ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP
The term “Active Member” in the Fraternal Order of Police refers to a “Law Enforcement Officer” either actively employed or retired.
ELIGIBILITY – ACTIVE MEMBER
Any regularly appointed or elected and full-time (or retired) law enforcement officer (with arrest powers) of the United States, any state or political subdivision thereof, or any agency, may be eligible for membership in the Fraternal Order of Police, subject to the provisions of the Constitution & By-Laws of the Fraternal Order of Police.
Full-time shall mean law enforcement officers that are engaged in such employment as their full-time occupation as to hours worked and income derived as determined by their lodge. The term may also sworn law enforcement officer with arrest powers who is employed by a government entity as their full-time occupation (minimum 30 hours per week).
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
FOP NY Law Enforcement Officers Lodge 911 also provides for Associate Membership in the Lodge.
ELIGIBILITY – ASSOCIATE MEMBER
The Fraternal Order of Police Associate is a civilian member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Associate members are friends and families of law enforcement Officers, responsible and respected business persons, professional men and women, and citizens from all walks of life—people willing to devote a portion of their time and efforts toward assisting the various law enforcement agencies of our communities, states and nation.
If you are not a Law Enforcement Officer, are at least 18 years old and are sponsored by an Active Member who is in “Good Standing” with the Fraternal Order of Police, you may be eligible for Associate Membership in FOP NY Law Enforcement Officers Lodge 911.
FAMILY MEMBERSHIP
FOP NY Law Enforcement Officers Lodge 911 also provides for Family Membership in the Lodge.
ELIGIBILITY – ASSOCIATE FAMILY MEMBER
The FOP NY Law Enforcement Officers Lodge 911 Family Member is an Associate Member (described above) who is related to an Active Member with the FOP NY Law Enforcement Officers Lodge 911 in “Good Standing”.
The FOP NY Law Enforcement Officers Lodge 911 offers Family Members discounted membership dues and Photo ID fees from that of a regular Associate Member.
